Congratulations to the Simpson Rally Team

Yet another year has pasted of Rally Barbados, with yet another blistering result for Simpson Motors Suzuki Swift.

The Simpson's Suzuki piloted by Sean Gill and Micheal Cummins (Zippy) finished 5th overall and highest place 2WD.

After lying third overall for part of Saturdays stages, Sean and Zippy suffered steering problems and resulted in the team dropping time.

After a hard fought battle, trying to regain some of the time lost on the Saturday, the pair finally finished 5th Overall, 1st in class ahead of the competition by 7 minutes and was crowned  King of the Carnival 2008.
 

The King of the Carnival award is giving for the most consistent driver over the two carnival weekends (King of the Hill and Rally Barbados).

 

Sean's team mate Trevor Manning and Derek Edwards, had a learning weekend getting to know the characteristics of the Mitsubishi Evo 8's new turbo.     

Trevor finished 5th in his class with for WRC cars in front of him.

After two days of twisting Barbados roads Trevor navigated the car to finish 6th overall, just behind the Swift.

 

Well done to Geoffrey Noel and Kreigg Yearwood, who drove the Mitsubishi Evo 9 to finish 9th overall and 2nd in class, just beating to winning the class by Brit Ryan Champion.
Storming result for Neil Barnard and Barry Hill who pushed the Suzuki Ignis to a class win and 29th overall.
